ENVS 6321 Environmental Planning and Design Workshop

Fall 2003

Course Director: Dr. Carmela Canzonieri

Environmental planning and design workshop is one of the most rewarding courses you will take. It is also one of the most difficult. It involves large scale physical/ecolological planning in a socially complex environment.

Physical planning means working with maps, drawings, and other tools to visualize systems of relationships among rivers, forest, animal, human communities and built environments. Physical planning sits in a very real world of people and their communities, and requires site visits, outside the classroom work, and group work in the class.

Visit the design studios at other universities, look at the scope of past studios, and think how your own studio experience will contribute to your professional development and to your future as citizens and planners in Canada and the world.
